Witnessing the Becoming: Dylan’s Story

I’ve known Dylan for nearly four years now, and it’s been one of those connections that just makes sense. From the start, I saw something in him. Something deep, intuitive, and quietly powerful. Even in his earlier chapters, I could sense the version of himself he was growing into.

Watching that unfold in real time has been such a gift.

In our recent conversation, Dylan opened up about where he is now: 297 days sober, re-examining who he is beyond the identities that once defined him — the trainer, the coach, the one who had it all together on the outside.

What he shared was raw, honest, and deeply human.

He spoke about shedding the expectations that came with the fitness industry, and what it’s like to meet himself in a whole new way. He’s learning to love Dylan — not the persona, not the performance — but the person. And the beauty of it all? That’s the version of him I feel like I’ve always seen.

The version that’s soft and strong at the same time. The version that leads with heart instead of image. The version that’s not afraid to fall apart and come back together with intention.

Dylan titled this chapter of his life Phoenix, and there’s no better word for it. He’s rising — not into something new, but into someone real. It’s been an honor to witness his journey, to hold space for his truth, and to share this story with you.
